James has literally hit the ground running this year, and is now achieving far closer to the potential he was showing when he finalled at World Juniors and European Under-23 Championships. His selection for the Europa Cup team is hopefully only the tip of a highly successful iceberg this year. European Championships, Commonwealth Games, and many of the top meetings around Europe all beckon now if he can keep his focus, and execute his races effectively. My job satisfaction doesn't get too much better than this with an athlete who has been with us, bar two seasons, since he was 13 years old!
