Gavin was a high profile member of the group up until 2007 when he decided to prioritise his studies after finalling in the South of England 400m Championships, and showing real promise. He staged a comeback in 2009, getting himself in serious shape for winter, and has progressed well.

Described by coach John Powell as potentially a high achiever at regional level, if not nationally if he keeps hold of a full training programme for a couple of winters.
